i think that although fly size can be critical realism can be just as important
In April & May I use mostly size 12 Hare's Ear nymphs, weighted in size 12 and Green Caddis larva in size 14, also weighted.
June, size 14 to 18 Adams and Sulphurs
July thru Sept = beetles & ants size 12-20
