About 70% of the flies i tie utilize CDC. I actually substitute CDC for other materials in some instances. Craig introduced me to working with the stuff at one of his tying demonstrations. Very happy ever since. Thanks

i find cdc to be a very touchy material to work with 1) it can be very expensive
2)if you dont know what to look for you may end up spending a lot of money on bad cdc
the brand that seems to have the best quality is the trout hunter cdc

to answer your question about half of my dry flies use cdc

as a subsistute poly propoline is very effective i tie all of my "hard wing" parachutes with it

There are some great video's on you tube re: tying cdc material. One to mention uses only one feather.Tied a few and they look great. Planning on using them tomorrow 4/17/ 09 Friday at the Croton if the Hendrickson's show.
